WHO SHOULD WIN Union’s Rider of the Year?
“It might seem like I’m being bias, but Raph is always at the forefront of the sport’s progression with innovative rails, tricks and video parts. ” Oli DEROME
Best 2015 trip you went on and why?
Malibu Tokyo Pro. It was my first time in Japan and it was amazing to visit and see the eastern culture that is so far from ours in the western world.
Favorite trick you landed on film for the year?
W2W Mute double cab roll. I had gotten really close 2 years prior but f*cked my ankle pretty bad and had trouble with it for almost a year, it felt good to put it down clean for the video project I did with Jon Ferguson but more importantly for myself.
What would you say was your best video part of the year?
Definitely my submission to the online video part contest. All the tricks I had learnt in the past 12 months were saved for this project and it felt good to release it.
Who do you think should be the 2015 rider of the year and why?
It might seem like I’m being bias, but Raph is always at the forefront of the sport’s progression with innovative rails, tricks and video parts. After releasing the best wakeboard project ever known to the industry (not just riding but cinematography and editing wise -cheers to Jon Ferguson) he came back and delivered an amazing part for Real Wake with more rail designs and winch hits that are even hard on a cable.
Do you have many plans for 2016?
After releasing my web part, I realized I was hungry for more as the project was very motivating. I will continue to travel and compete but will make time to film more.
